We have already begun practising for our Sacrament Presentation. It's coming up soon! Everyone has a speaking part and we will sing many songs we've been working on this year...

To celebrate the children's success in memorizing the Articles of Faith through song we will be having an ice cream social out at the Primary President's house. Please come and enjoy water fun, food and games. Bring a towel and where clothes for messy fun.

Easter Songs

Thank you to all the children who sang in sacrament meeting Easter Sunday. You did a fabulous job! Thanks to the parents for practicing with their children and for Sister Amy and Sister Katie who teach us beautiful music. We also appreciate the teachers who lended their support on the stand Sunday. It was lovely!

BAPTISMS

Congratulations to Jewell! She was baptized Sunday (yesterday). Stay close to the Spirit and it will ever guide you.

Saturday Caleb J. will be baptized at 11 a.m. We're so excited for you and this important decision you have made!

Logan was baptized out of town with family surrounding him. We are sorry we missed it, but we're so happy for you and this blessing in your life that will continue to sustain you always!

Sunday Staff Meeting

Hello Primary Friends...
The Waterloo Ward Primary will be having a Primary Staff Meeting this Sunday during the last time block in church. The teachers will teach their lessons during the block after sacrament. The Primary will be all together for sharing time/music time in the Primary room with our stand-in's.

Scripture Chain and Ice Cream Scoops

Hello Primary Families-
If you haven't seen- our scripture chain is reaching great lengths! We appreciate your effort to read the scriptures with your children so they can be part of our growing scripture chain. :)
Also, you may have seen some scoops come home recently. We've been working on Articles of Faith, #1, 2, and 8. The children should know the songs well. Please post their scoops on their charts at home and encourage them to practice the ones they passed off to retain their memory.
If you need a chart or a certain scoop- please see Charity.
Thanks for all you continue to do to strengthen your children spiritually. We have an outstanding group of kids.

Opening Exercise Assignments

Hello Parents and Friends!
Just a quick update.... if your child is on the list for a talk/scripture/prayer, AND THEY ARE OR WILL BE, please note that I will try to call you the week before and the weekend of. If you are not able to complete the assignment, try not to panic. Because this experience is planned for your child, we will not worry about finding a substitute for the talks. We will wing it. Chaos is our specialty. We do want you to do all you can to help your child fulfill their individual assignments for their spiritual growth, but we understand that there are times of sickness and absence. Thanks for working with us!

Scoops for our Troops

This is what the scoop looks like that your child will earn for each of the 13 Articles of Faith for their ice cream cone. We'll be celebrating their progress with an Ice Cream Party TBA.

A New Year- A New Theme

Welcome Parents, Presidency, Teachers, and Bishopric...
"I Know the Scriptures Are True" is our theme for 2011. We will be relying on you, as the parents, to encourage our primary children to read the scriptures and bring them to church weekly. We're excited to see your children show a great love of the stories there. To track the children's progress we are making a paper chain for the weeks each child reads their scriptures. We are also focusing on memorizing the 13 Articles of Faith. We sent home an ice cream cone chart to track their progress as we work with them. When they "pass off" an A of F, we will send home an ice cream scoop for their chart. This summer we are planning an ice cream social to celebrate our progress!
In addition to a new theme, we also have a new schedule.
Primary will start at 10:20 in the Primary room. We will no longer meet in the chapel. There is a break from 11:10-11:20. The individual classes will meet from 11:20 - 12:00. Each classroom will have the roster and teacher posted on the door.
